Dr. Angelo A. Zaffuto

  The Humantics Foundation honors our

beloved founder

Dr. Angelo A. Zaffuto

on his 80th birthday, November 4, 2006.

Dr. Zaffuto has provided loving, gentle, healing and centered guidance to many, many women harmed by breast implants.

An ordained youth minister, Dr. Zaffuto received his doctorate in Sociology in London, England in 1967. He has spent decades counseling and guiding people in challenging and difficult times.

His focus and efforts resulted in the creation of the renowned Santa Barbara Alphagenic Center in Southern California.

There he introduced the method of self-improvement known as Alphagenics, still being used today.

In 1974, Doubleday published his Alphagenics: How to Use Your Brain Waves to Improve Your Life. Through the years, he had numerous articles published in periodicals such as McCall's, American Chiropractic and Medical Insight.

Dr. Zaffuto has spent a lifetime researching the effects of negative programming on people's and especially women's lives. Using methods ranging from hypnosis to bio-feedback, he has cared for clients with problems of low self-esteem, anxiety, overweight and addiction. He has worked as a marriage counselor from both ends of the spectrum -- saving marriages for the sake of union and love, and ending them for the sake of promoting individual growth. Now, entering his eighth decade of life, he has come full circle and more in his philosophies of healing and life.

Dr. Zaffuto has produced a library of self-improvement videos that feature subliminal audio/visual elements. Produced under Alphagenic SubVision videotapes these include:

  • Reducing Stress
  • Conquering Fears and Phobias
  • Enjoy Natural Sleep
  • Freedom from Addiction
  • The Self Empowerment Alpha Ritual

His video on the subject of pain and suffering, "Sundown to Sunrise," won recognition at the Medical Film Festival held in Walnut Creek, California.

He has taught several self-empowerment courses for women including:

  • Mastering the New Person in You
  • Mastering and Eliminating Rejection and Disappointment
  • Increasing Self-Esteem and Self-Worth

In 1963, Dr. Zaffuto founded a nonprofit organization which has now become the Humantics Foundation. In 1992, the foundation hosted a benefit to raise funds for the family of a man dying from AIDS.

In 1996, along with Ilena Rosenthal, Breast Implants: Recovery & Discovery was created under the Humantics umbrella to provide support and information for those harmed by these faulty products.

He marched with the women, attended several Health Expositions, and aided enormously in spreading information on the risks of implants.

During the years, several women with no other resources have had their implant removal surgeries and care provided by the Humantics Foundation. This work continues today.

Always an adventurer, Dr. Zaffuto traveled in 1980 to South America to dredge for gold. The "gold" he found was the life philosophy of a small native tribe -on the banks of the Rio Agua Clara, deep in the Colombian jungle. Led by Agnike, a medicine woman, Dr. Zaffuto witnessed rituals for mental and physical healing that have changed his consciousness.

In 1996, Dr. Zaffuto shared these experiences in this wonderful book, Living Perfect Love: Self-Empowerment Rituals for Women. Best selling author and personal friend, Louise Hay, provided the Foreward for this book. Dr. Zaffuto contributes funds to the Humantics Foundation from the purchase of the book and many women, because of this book, have found the Humantics Foundation Support Group.

In September, 2006, Dr. Zaffuto and his twin brother, John, shared an early celebration of their 80th birthdays in a glorious fiesta that included generations of family and many, many loving friends.

Although mainly retired, Dr. Zaffuto makes himself available for volunteering counseling and helping women to become self-empowered. He provides constant loving strength and guidance to The Humantics Foundation and its many challenges of providing support for such a highly controversial issue.
